Hi all,
Need urgent help in understanding WLC communication with DHCP during user connection with Wi-Fi
We have L3 interface of wi-fi user subnet created on L3 switch and we created helper address for DHCP communication on user L3 interface. We are able to ping helper address by keeping user vlan as source , but not able to ping same helper address with WLC.
Is it required helper address should be reachable from WLC?
IS wlc managment IP in source communicate with DHCP for assigning IP to user

For the DHCP relay you have two options:
You can use the WLC's DHCP proxy which the WLC's management IP address will relay the DHCP requests to your DHCP server.
You can disable the WLC's DHCP proxy and let the DHCP IP helper addresses you configured on the L3 switch interface relay as it would normally do for a wired setup.
You can enable and disable the proxy globally on the WLC:
In the WLC GUI, under Controller>>Advanced>>DHCP
Or you can disable it per interface on the WLC
In the WLC GUI, under Controller>>Interfaces>>Interface_Name>>DHCP Information
