WLC Controller Upgrade Fails.

I am trying (for two days now!) to upgrade a 4402 Controller. I have upgraded three others just like it to version AIR-WLC4400-K9-4-0-179-11.aes from Version: 3.2.150.6. I have tried multiple TFTP servers and each one fails with "Failure while storing in flash". Nothing I change seems to have any effect and the tftp downloads vary as to where they drop off with no consistency.

Thanks!

Hi Guys

Please take note here that TFTPD32 does work as it supports TFTP Files greater than 16Mb in size. Run the upgrade from CLI and not the HTTPS interface. Also bear in mind that it is not possible to upgrade from 4.0.x.y to 4.1.x.y directly. You first need to upgrade to 4.0.219.0 and then to 4.1.x.y. You also need to upgrade the Boot Loader as well or the WLAN Controller may not function properly after the upgrade.

Anyone figure out a fix for this?

i'm surprised tftpd32 is failing (that's the issue right? sorry, the thread just got too long!)? we've use that almost everyday and there's no signs that there's something wrong. perhaps you could paste the output of 'transfer download' from the controller to see where this is all breaking?

Old thread, but I just had the same problem with a WLC 2504 that arrived with OS v7.4... tried updating it to 8.5, error writing to Flash (0).

I forgot the bit about updating to FUS 1.9 or later before trying to go to 8.5.  Got reminded when I went to re-download the 8.5 code in case it was corrupt.
