I'm confused about something related to the Optimized Roaming feature in WLC. I understand that it resolves the sticky client issue and will disassociate it if its RSSI or Datarate goes below a certain level. It will also block a client to associate if it doesn't have these conditions.
The question is .. I can already control that by disabling some datarates "typically lower ones" so that no client will associate to lower datarates. I'm not sure if the client will be disassociated if its datarate goes below the basic rate or not. By disabling datarates, both datarates & RSSI are controlled since they are function of each other from client perspective.
So, how this will be different to the Optimized Roaming feature?
