WLC or Switch DHCP

I have 5508 WLCs which have the DHCP servers configured under the SSID interface.

Local switching is in operation.

Under the SSID config, neither DHCP Server Override or DHCP Addr. Assignment are selected

Under the L3 Vlan on the switch, we have IP helper IPs configured. (more than on the WLC)

My question is, which DHCP server would be preferred (used)?  Switch or WLC?

Hi

If you are usimg local switching (flexconnect) the DHCP used is the one configured on the IP helper address.

The  DHCP configured on the WLC will take place if the traffic is central switching

For central switching, the WLC can act as the proxy for DHCP, if this option is enabled, then the WLC request the IP and hand off to client, or the wlc can be just a bridge (if proxy is disabled). On this case the client ask to DHCP directly
