So I have a 4402 and I have configured the WPA to use a Hex PSK using 64-bit. I type in 64 1's for example and click apply. When I go back into the WLAN it is set as ACSII not HEX. Any ideas? Is this a security feature?

Hello,
Diro is correct in saying that this is a normal behaviour of the wlc. For further clarification you can have a look at the following doc:

After you configure the key, you can not know what type of key (ASCII or HEX) is configured. It always shows "ASCII" on the GUI and on the CLI WLAN config it shows the security as PSK only. it does not state ASCII or HEX.
This is how the WLC behaves.
