WLC2006 Boot Failure

Hi there. I have a WLC2006. When I try to boot it up I get the following message:

Cisco AireOS Version 3.2.150.10

Initializing OS Services: Failed to open /mnt/application/eeprom.dat.

Cisco Crash Handler

This build was configured to copy this crash information to

a file called: "/mnt/application/mwar_dump1.crash"

The unit keeps cycling through this process. I have tried all the boot options. Can anyone help?

You probably chose option 5 (clear config) from the boot menu, and ran into the defect CSCsg18356, for which we have released a field notice: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/ps6308/products_field_notice09186a00807516b4.shtml

Unfortunately, once in this state, you need to RMA the 2006.

When you use Option 5 to reset the controller via the command line interface, option 5 is known to corrupt the eeprom.dat. I found this out the hard way about a week ago!
