I will suggest start assign IP to AP and try ping to mgmt interface of 9800

MHM

AP will got IP from DHCP Mgmt

If AP get IP from dhcp' then start ping from AP to mgmt wlc

Are ping success?

MHM

My AP Mgmt is vlan 91
and for AP- Users mgmt is vlan 93

Ping to vlan 91 ap mgmt of wlc

See if AP can connect to wlc or not

Hey @hamza-ali,

The LED blinking red/blue/green on your 3802I usually means the AP is in discovery mode and can’t find a WLC.

First, make sure the AP is getting an IP address either via DHCP or static. Then confirm it can ping the management interface of the WLC. If it can’t, check for routing issues, access-lists, or missing option 43 in DHCP (if the WLC isn’t on the same subnet).

Also make sure the WLC has a proper AP join profile, country code is set, and the AP's software version is compatible with your 9800L VM.

Its not fully discover on WLC9800L C-K9 which is install on VM and My AP 3802I is continuously rebooting red/blue/green.

Please guide me where i can check option 43 in DHCP ON MY WLC9800L C-K9

BR

As per my experience and exposure AP discover Automatically we just need to power up the AP. In my case AP is 3802i

 - @hamza-ali  Note that DHCP option 43 is not related to the controller but must be configured on the DHCP server that the access points are using :

@hamza-ali   - The LED pattern can also indicate insufficient power available for the AP. Check requirements versus powering solutions provided ,

@marce1000 i have checked the AP is connected with POE+ switch port but its still not be discover on WLC9800L C-K9 install on VM. Please assits me

@hamza-ali  Troubleshoor the problem using instructons from https://logadvisor.cisco.com/logadvisor/wireless/9800/9800APJoin

Also checkout your 9800 controller configuration with the CLI command : show tech wireless

And feed the outpur into : https://cway.cisco.com/wireless-config-analyzer/

  Actually do the above first.

Does the switch port have CDP or LLDP (not both) enabled @hamza-ali ?

First try use Power cord instead of using PoE if the AP not blinking anymore that OK

Then check AP to WLC discover after you check

AP get IP

AP ping mgmt wlc
