Workgroup bridge or Wireless enabled router WPA2 (Enterprise)

We would like set up a wireless device in client mode and use WPA2 (Enterprise)

So far have only read alot  about setting this secure connection with a shared secret with WPA2; is it possible to issue a x509 cert to the wireless device that is acting in 'client mode' and get the device to authenticate using the cert?

best regards

Andy

The certificate based authentication is EAP-TLS. So I suggest you look into that.

You then need a radius server to compare the certificatei and authenticate it. You can use ACS or any other radius server you like.

And yes, the access points, when acting as client (workgroup bridge for example) can authenticate themselves.
