ASR 9000 support for 40GE interface cards

Hi,

I have a couple of switches with 40GE interfaces that I would like to connect to our Cisco ASR9K without using breakout cables. 

I have been checking the list of ASR9K supported cards in this link

Inside this page there is a link with modular cards https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/asr-9000-series-aggregation-services-routers/data_sheet_c78-663866.html that seem to be the only ones with 40GE interfaces (A9K-MPA-1x40GE and A9K-MPA-2x40GE).

A couple of questions:

- Are these the only options with 40GE interfaces for ASR9K?

- Is it supported to split a 100GE interface into 2x40GE using CPAK-2X40G-LR4 or any other transceiver? This one I got it from a presentation, but I don't see it in the list CPAK transceiver modules

Hello Rafa,

Answering your questions:
- Those are the only 40G ports cards for now
- We can do 2X40 breakout on 100g port. Just need to make sure certain card supporting certain type of optics. On 8x100 card for example 2X40G can be achieved with the CPAK-10x10G-LR module using MPO24 to two MPO12 breakout cable.
