ASR9001 - IOS XR upgrade to 5.3.4 - SFP+ failing to function, FPGA version incorrect

After upgrading to 5.3.4, FPA included, interfaces SFP+0 - 3 stopped functioning.  I noticed that fpga version was not right.

It can be downgraded using the "admin> upgrade hw-module fpd <fpd> force location <loc>" CLI.

I then issued a forced downgrade on fpga4 and fpga2 to attempt to restore SFP+0/3 interfaces.

version 255.255 is reported when the OS can't read the info from HW. In your case the real issue is this one:

RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:Dec 30 22:21:53.354 : FABMGR[220]: %PLATFORM-FABMGR-2-FABRIC_INTERNAL_FAULT : 0/0/CPU0 (slot 2) encountered fatal fabric fault.Interfaces are going to be shutdown.

It would be the best if you would open a TAC SR to analyse this further. It may be a HW fault.

regards,

/Aleksandar

It appears to be a HW fault. I forced a downgrade for kicks, no luck.  I do not have support on this chassis.  Are there any repair options/recommendations?  I'm aware that 0/0/CPU0 is not field replaceable, but is it replaceable at all?  EP(MPA) cards fail function as well.

RP and LC components of asr9001 are inseparable from the chassis. Only the MPAs, power supply and fan are field replaceable.
