Hello,
Does anybody knows the port numbering used on the Cisco ASR9001 for the
Left MPA
Right MPA
Built-in 10GbE interfaces
I'm assuming that with NV technology in place, the chassi number would be 0 for the primary DSC and 1 for the secondary DSC.
Thanks!
David

Hello David,
Left slot is named Bay 0, so, no surprise, that would be 0
Right slot is named Bay 1, so 1.
The build in port are treated as in slot 2.
Bay 0 - 0/0/0/x
Bay 1 - 0/0/1/x
The buildin ports:
TenGigE0/0/2/0
TenGigE0/0/2/1
TenGigE0/0/2/2
TenGigE0/0/2/3
Yes, with the cluster we get 1 for the second chassis:
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:ios#show platform
Node Type State Config State
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
0/RSP0/CPU0 ASR9001-RP(Active) IOS XR RUN PWR,NSHUT,MON
0/0/CPU0 ASR9001-LC IOS XR RUN PWR,NSHUT,MON
0/0/0 A9K-MPA-20X1GE OK PWR,NSHUT,MON
0/0/1 A9K-MPA-4X10GE OK PWR,NSHUT,MON
1/RSP0/CPU0 ASR9001-RP(Active) IOS XR RUN PWR,NSHUT,MON
1/0/CPU0 ASR9001-LC IOS XR RUN PWR,NSHUT,MON
1/0/0 A9K-MPA-20X1GE OK PWR,NSHUT,MON
1/0/1 A9K-MPA-2X10GE OK PWR,NSHUT,MON

Once again thanks Alexei.
Of course the HW documentation guide has several bugs (but you are always here to help!)
"
Remember that Cisco ASR 9001 Router rack and subslot values are always 0 (zero).
"
which contradicts
"
The line card slot is numbered 0 with three subslots. The subslots on the line card are numbered 0, 1, and 2. 0 and 1 are reserved for EP ports and 2 is for native ports on the line card. Even if the line card contains only one port, you must use the rack/slot/instance/port notation.
"
I'll stick to this last paragraph, as you confirm.
PS: I did ask for 2 ASR9001 from Cisco demo depot, but they are being built and delivered only in a couple of weeks !!! Can you lend my yours ?
