Hi All, we recently deployed a new Cisco ASR 9010 is one of the data centers. The issue is that it does'nt support 10g SFP+ copper cable.
Although the problem got resolved when we replaced copper cable with LC-LC 10g sm fibers and SFP+ 10g Transceivers but does IOS-XR is not build to support 10g copper SFP+ cables at all or is there any command to tweak the OS to support copper?
We're using Cisco ASR 9000 24-port 10GE line card in this router.
We have a Cisco Nexus 3064 Layer 2 to which this router is connected. Is it the nexus or ASR which does'nt support copper ?
Thanks in Advance,
Jasbir

The 24x10 supports some copper:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/interfaces_modules/transceiver_modules/compatibility/matrix/10GE_Tx_Matrix.html
SFP-H10GB-ACU7M
SFP-H10GB-ACU10M
As for tweaking the OS there are the standard hidden unsupported transceiver commands but those are best effort.
Thanks,
Sam

Hello Sam,
please, is there any plan to add support of SFP-H10GB-ACU7M, SFP-H10GB-ACU10M, on ASR9001 (on-board SPF+ ports)?
It would have significant benefit for our customers (small SP).
Kind regards
Vladimir

They are supported, starting in 5.1.1/5.2.0

Please,
is it documented on CCO somewhere? (I was not able to find this info in "Compatibility Matrix" nor in Release Notes.)
If not yet documented, could you, please, initiate documentation update?
Thank you
Vladimir

We are working to get the documentation updated with this optic. Should be done sometime this week.
