To provide Internet service to a handful of users (about 30), do I need to purchase A9K-VSM-500 card and A9K-XLAT-LIC-5M license to run NAT (not NAT444) on ASR 9010? We plan to go step-by-step, and for the very early stage just want to make some cost saving. Is this possible or not to run NAT on ASR 9010 without the above card and license?

You may also purchase the older A9K-ISM-100 blade, it's good for up to 20M concurrent sessions. You cannot do NAT native on the ASR9K so you would need the ISM (older) or VSM (newer) blades for this.

Thank Fredrik. If so I do need to use 150K US$ for CGNAT. Or default route to my upstream ISP and natting should be there. :P

Heh yeah for your scale, doing NAT on the 9K probably isn't a sound solution, given the smaller scale alternatives ;).
