We are running Multi HOP BGP in our network between Cisco NCS6k and Juniper. we are running 5.2.4 code in NCS6k and looks like it does not support BFD for Multiple HOP BGP. Multi HOP BGP is used to peer using the loopbacks and static route is used to point the next hop physical interface. This physical interface goes down for 10secs randomly and recovers. Provider of this physical interface is unable to determine the problem. BGP never goes down during this 10secs causing a traffic impact. BGP fall over is not an available feature for IOS-XR as far i know. What are my other options to bring down the BGP session immediately when the link goes down? We have carrier delay set to 5000 and NHT is enabled. Hold Timer is 90secs.
