Hi guys,
I work in a company where there are 4 ASR 9922 chassis newly installed, each have 4 and 5 cards SFC. They have the same behavior of high temperature over 40 ° C (as the website says Ciscohttp://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/asr-9000-series-aggregation-services-routers/data_sheet_c78-501767.html ) In the NPs, FIA and other components. Currently, there is no traffic through them, all were installed correctly and tell us the installation guide procedure (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/hardware/installation/guide/asr9kHIGbk/asr9kIGprep.html). These chassis are installed at different sites that have a room temperature 21°C. Could someone tell me that can be happening?
Here is fragment from "show environments."

hi carlos,
actually I want to say that these temperatures are not that bad. the modular cards are a bit hotter then what I would expect to see but your inlet temperatures are somewhat high also, could it be that the air flow is obstructed?
possibly as a suggestion you could tweak the altitude of the system so that the fans spin a bit faster to provide more cooling.
admin config: environment altitude 4000
it might need a few minutes to adjust the fan speeds.
at my 3000 meter config I have fan speeds of 6000rpm that can be seen via admin show env fan
cheers
xander

Hi xthuijs,
Thanks you for reading my post. The air flow ins't obstructed.I think that it change this parameter, Could not degrade the life of the fans? because I don't know if the chassis systems have a temperature controller. What do you say?
08-03-2016 11:20 AM
I changed my system to the default alititude and I saw my fan speed dropping to 4k rpm.
the temperatures start to match what you are having at 60C.
as long as they are below 90C is what you must maintain.
I think you'll want to set the altitude to 4000meters to increase the fan speed and get some more airflow. the fan trays are rated up to 14k rpm.
so with the adjustment well within bounds! :)
cheers!

please follow the advice in Field Notice FN 64117, there is an issue with the default fan speed (RPM) on that box.
greetings
thomas
