IOS-XR VPLS Questions

Hi All

Some questions regarding config and capabilities on ASR9K IOS-XR.

I want to have a VPLS setup that transports three vlan tags. A,B,C

do I need to make one bridge group with three bridge domains inside:

bridge-group CustA

   bridge-domain A

     VFI

  bridge-domain B

     VFI

   bridge-domain C

     VFI

or is there a way to carry them all over the same single VPLS instance?

I understand that if you add interfaces/neighbors directly under the bridge domain they are AC and could have local switching.

and that if you dont have autodiscovery and add neighbors under the VFI these will be the remote PE nodes?

is CFM, MEP/MIP etc supported on VPLS services?

Also in order to CoS/Police/filter traffic ingressing/egressing a VPLS service.  Are these commands entered underneath the AC config somewhere?

many thanks

Hi William,

In the EVC model, the bridge-domain is the equivalent of a vlan.

so you want to keep the different EFP's with the different vlans in a different bridge-domain.

the brdige-group is just a configuration hierarchy that doesnt do anything else but grouping the config for easy read.
