[NCS 5500] vrf select feature

Hi, 

According to NCS5500 configuration guide, it doesn't support ABF with VRF select.

Is it the roadmap? If yes, when will it be supported?

Hi Carlos,

So far it has not been implemented. Can you please help us to understand the use-case for this and why ABF with “IP” or “IP+VRF” NH (which we both support) cannot be used instead.

What we want to do is be able to inject traffic coming into an interface and grab whatever route is best within a VRF. So, basically no NH, just VRF.

I have some good news. I checked with project team in background and was advised that "VRF-Select" along with "VRF Fallback" will be available from 6.5.1. 6.5.1 is targeted for July/August 2018.

I can't find this being mentioned in the release notes for 6.5.1. Was VRF-select added for ABF in 6.5.1?

Hello,

Unfortunately NCS5501 does not support 6.5.1. 6.5.2 is coming beginning 2019 so lets check on that. I will try to get a hold of a lab to test is as well and let you know.

Just check on 6.5.X lab node. It seems to be working with config:

Does Cisco official support VRF select with ABF on NCS 5500. I can configure it on 6.5.3.

However documentation mentions its not supported. 

ipv4 access-list ABF-TEST-VRF
10 permit ipv4 100.64.0.0 0.0.255.255 host 44.44.44.44 nexthop1 vrf test ipv4 44.44.44.44
15 permit ipv4 14.14.14.0 0.0.0.255 any nexthop1 vrf test
