Hi,
I have few questions hope someone can help clarify
1. To connect two qsfp-100g-sr4-s on asr9k back to back directly, I understand i need a "mpo 12 fibre type b female to female" as the qsfp itself having pins is male. Is this correct?
2. It appears that even if the datasheet for the qsfp-100g-sr4-s states its a 12 fibre mpo connector, 8 actual fibres are used (4tx, 4rx), making the middle 4 totally unused. Does it therefore mean that an mpo12 connector with 8 wired fibres, so missing the middle 4, is suitable for a back to back direct link ? of course type b to connect the 4tx on one side to 4rx on the other.
3. Is it possible and correct to connect qsfp-100g-sr4-s to cpak-100g-sr4 in a direct back to back fashion using an 8 fibre cable type b with mpo12 female connectors ? I assume that if the sr4 standard is common across both optics this should work right ?
Thanks
Mark
