Hi,

i´m searching for the right OID for temperature at a asr9k.

I used th entitysensor MIB for a snmp walk, but i don´t find any matching values with the output (admin show environment temperature) on the command line.

The output in entSensorValue is different to the output with the command admin show environment temperature.

Has anyone an idea how i get the right oid?

Hello,

I just post the answer to help who could have again the same issue.

From another post:

"There are typically two temperature sensors per line card that you may want to check, hotspot and inlet. Where the sensors are located varies from card to card, based on how the airflow is designed for that particular card. With the CLI command "show environment temperatures" you can read out the measured temperature from both sensors."

admin show environment temperatures

"Inlet is generally a sensor very near where the fans would be. On the ASR, this would be near the bottom of the chassis where the fan trays are. It's generally a spot on the card that is "upwind" of all the heat generating components. It can warm you about a broken AC system in the location of your system, I have seen that several times. Hotspot is the exactly that: it's the hottest spot on the linecard and again varies a lot depending on where exactly the heat generating components are."

You can use the next OIDs to fetch the data:

And set the monitoring alarm thresholds as the cisco CLI suggest using the "admin show environment temperatures".

I hope it helps you.
