Monitor device realtime "off-hook" events - Unified Communication Manager

Looked at the Risport selectCmDevice API example but was unsure if this is what I need.

What is the correct way to "receive" off-hook events?

What's the purpose of monitoring the "off hook" event? Could you please share the use case?

Usually the call status event can be monitored by "call control API" such as JTAPI, TAPI, Jabber, etc.

A background application will display specific information to the computer user who is picking up a call.

So either an off hook or a call pickup event who be nice.

The TAPI and JTAPI examples are over 10 years old and are not well documented.
