Obtain Wireless Policy Tags in Advanced

Good day all.

DNAC will create the wireless policy tags under the cover.  Does anyone know how to obtain the name of these policy tags before you even deploy a wireless controller and AP’s?

Thanks.

I believe it uses the same method of WLC as mentioned below. (You can configure on the DNAC based on the requirement as per design and business required naming)

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

The link you provided only talks about the controller itself.  It does not mention anything about DNAC and how it generates the Wlan policy tag names.

It's an internal logic that is used to create the policy tag and can't be predicted exactly.

The logic is as follows which is a string concatenation of the following values

prefix+delim+site+delim+building+delim+floor+delim+ instance_id

prefix ="PT" for policy tag

delim="_"

site/floor/building= name of the site/floor/building  in design hierarchy(limited to five characters)

instance_id=randomhexdigits(five characters)
