cisco Jabber for Android unregister after a short time.

Dear all,

I am using CUCM v9.1.2 with VCS-C/VCS-E (X8.2.2) for remote and Mobile access.

As Software, I am using jabber 10.6.0 for Android.

I noticed after a short time (5 min) the Jabber client unregister from the CUCM without showing any message on the device. The sip device profile was configured as stated in the Technote below.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-version-85/113471-jabber-android-00.html#increase

Are there any parameters to change/to take into consideration? or has anyone such behaviour encountered?

Best regards,

Yam

Hi Yam:

Please check your android models and versions of the list if there is support

Hi

Can you check if the timers on the SIP profile selected on the jabber device on CUCM is as below, if not try it for a single device by copying/renaming the default SIP profile and customizing the timers as below

Timer Invite Expires (seconds) --  180 seconds

Timer Register Delta (seconds)-- 60 seconds

Timer Register Expires to 720

Timer Keep Alive Expires to 720

Timer Subscribe Expires to 21600

Timer Subscribe Delta to 15

Hi tapan I have the parameters in sip profile equally to guide configuration, but I go to modify this parameters

I have the same settings

Timer Invite Expires (seconds) --  180 seconds

Timer Register Delta (seconds)-- 60 seconds

Timer Register Expires to 720

Timer Keep Alive Expires to 720

Timer Subscribe Expires to 21600

Timer Subscribe Delta to 15

We are having the same issue here with both Jabber for Andriod and Jabber for iPhone. When on the internal WiFi, the Jabber app disconnects anywhere from 10 - 40 minutes. You get a message on the phone indicating that either IM and Presence Services have disconnected or Phone Services have disconnected - not necessarily at the same time - sometime it's just the IM services, sometimes the Phone Services, sometimes both.

The phone itself never disconnects from WiFi, only the Jabber app.

Interestingly, over MRA it never disconnects.

We set the SIP Profile timers as per the doc below:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/10_6/CJAB_BK_C56DE1AB_00_cisco-jabber-106-deployment-and-installation-guide/CJAB_BK_C56DE1AB_00_cisco-jabber-106-deployment-and_chapter_0101.html#JABI_TK_CA1E8C6C_00

  • Timer Register Delta to 120
  • Timer Register Expires to 720
  • Timer Keep Alive Expires to 720
  • Timer Subscribe Expires to 21600
  • Timer Subscribe Delta to 15

I recently changed Timer Register Delta (seconds) to 60 seconds as mentioned above, but still same behaviour.

Is there any other settings that can be checked?

Thanks,

Frank

Hi,

I've had the same problem. Its a bug in the jabber for Android (CSCut22048).

It is fixed in the latest version of Jabber.

Best regards,

Roberto

I confirm the problem was solved with Jabber for Android v11.

Hi had the same issue before and tried changing the SIP timers. but what solved our issue was disabling the built in bridge inside the device page.
