Cisco Jabber for Windows

Hi Community,

We have CUCM 11/CUP and IP Phones, video endpoints, and Jabber clients registered to it.

All seems works fine but our issue is when we create and add Jabber users we cannot log in these users successfully.

Old Jabber users works fine but newly created users cannot login. The error message is username or password incorrect. No AD integration. Local authentication only.

How to troubleshoot this issue?

Or could you provide a step by step procedure on how to create/add Jabber users on CUCM/CUP.

Thanks in advance.

> Create an end user and assign service profile and Enable User for Unified CM IM and Presence, and assign it to "standard CTI enabled" access group.
> Create a jabber device "cisco unified client services framework", you should use the CSFusername format for this CSF device name and assign end user in owner user id parameter and then go to line page and associate end user at the bottom.

> Go to end user page and associate (under controlled devices) above CSF jabber device and select primary ext which is given to CSF device.

After that check in IM&P/CUP whether this user has synced there, there is nothing to configure in IM&P for new users.

Hope this helps you.

Hi,

you need to create End users in User Management with Last Name as mandatory and enter Telephone Number. Also, assign  the Presence setting and save it.

Next , u need to add Phone as CSF  and assign the User id created above.

Now, go back to End user  and associate Device and assign roles as below

  • Standard CCM end user
  • Standard CTI Allow call Monitoring
  • Standard CTI enabled

[+5] to Suresh.

What is the version of Jabber u are using?

I came across the issue where case sensitive was as issue and is a bug.

CSCuu40258

Description
Symptom:
Jabber 10.x logon fails because of wrong case username.

Conditions:
When logging on to Jabber, the username comparison should not be case sensitive. For example if the user account in IMP is User1, then users should be able to successfully log on when the username is entered like any of the following:

User1, user1, User1@domain, user1@domain

However, because of this software defect entering user1@domain will fail and the other 3 examples will succeed.

Workaround:
Users can enter the username with the correct case.

Hi,

If you haven't already, please check to ensure that the HA state for your IMP servers is not broken. If the IMP servers are not in Normal state, then users will not get assigned to any node and will stay in Unassigned state.
