Cisco Unity Unified Messaging 11.5 for Application Impersonation

Hi Everyone,

We are trying to see our options here for a resolution on the upcoming deprecation of Application Impersonation role in exchange.
Retirement of RBAC Application Impersonation in Exchange Online | Microsoft Community Hub

The current version is 11.5

AFAIK, we are running unity connected to M365/O365 and authenticating as OAuth2.0:

From my understanding, this coming February 2025, application impersonation in exchange online will be deprecated, and thus signing-in with the service account for cisco using OAuth2.0 will not work anymore? or will it still work but the service account can't be changed?

checking the new cisco article to setup connection to M365, we need to use Application Impersonation for full_access_as_app in the azure app registration?

but as the article says, this is only supported on version 14SU3 or later, does this mean we need to completely upgrade from 11.5 to 15 in order to use full_access_as_app?

Correct, in order for CUC to leverage the new full_access_as_app permission in Azure, it must be running 14SU3 or later.  The release notes of 14SU3 (attached) "New and Changed Support or Functionality" section explains in more detail about what changed.

As @Brad Magnani rightly pointed out you’ll need to upgrade your CUC system to at a minimum 14SU3, with the recommendation to go to the latest release of version 15.
