We have a situation where we have multiple users behind a retail line that all have the same extension in ipPhone in AD. This is because there are 2 phones on the line and up to 10 users working who all have that extension. The problem arises when they call someone else in our company from a phone on the line, it displays whoever is found first in AD on the receiving user's jabber. What we are trying to do is when they call from a phone on the line, it displays a generic caller ID such as "Retail Line XYZ" rather than "Jim Smith". Any ideas?

Unfortunately what you're seeing is the expected behavior, Jabber will do contact resolution from your directory, and is not possible to tell which one you'll get if you have more than one match. You'd need to fix this directly on your directory and leave only one match.

Thanks, but that still leaves me in a situation where I want other employees to be able to use Click to Call from their Jabber to call a user on the retail line. All 10 users on the retail line would have to have the same extension to ring the two phones they share.

Aside from using one line as a shared line, and then dedicating one DN per employee, there's not a lot you can do.
