CUC question

Hi there,

Can someone please shed some light here, if there's only a CUCM cluster already in place and want to implement a new CUC, does it require ordering it for the users via the top level sku UNITYCN11-K9 or via UWL?

2nd question: since CUCM is in cluster, does that mean the CUC will need to be in cluster as well? In that case should there be a single top level sku with the number of licenses per users doubled?

Thanks in advance!

T.

If you have CUWL licenses, then you don't need to purchase separate licenses for Unity Connection. CUWL license provides license for CUCM, Unity Connection, Cisco Jabber and up to 10 devices per User.

If it is UCL license, then you need to purchase additional licenses using UNITYCN11-K9 or UNITYCN12-K9 depending on your version.

For your reference, I have attached license comparison screenshot.

What licensing are you currently utilizing for CUCM - CUWL entitles you to the same number of Unity users, but UCL requires additional messaging licensing.
CUC is recommended to be in a cluster pair, but there is no requirements around the servers. You can have a single node or an HA pair. Everything is driven off the user licensing in PLM.

Hi Mike,
So if CUWL licenses are in place, then theres no need for additional licenses?

But, if there are UCL only in place, then for voicemails the additional lic must come from the SKU UNITYCN11-K9 and just adding the amount of users?

Thanks once again!
