Hi, can you please tell me if it is possible to have file transfer disabled but enable screen capture and if so how? Also is it possible to hide the file transfer icon?
Thanks

Hi Jeremy,
Please use the below jabber-config.xml file tag to disable file share
<Policies> <File_Transfer_Enabled>false</File_Transfer_Enabled> </Policies>
Screen capture is enabled by default.

Hi Ankoor, thank you for your reply. Can you please clarify that a bit more...
We have set in the Service Parameters of the IM&P servers 'Enable file transfer' set to 'off'. We are not able to transfer files or send screen captures. Are you saying we should enable that but put in the jabber-config.xml file for every client as you've stated above and that would then allow screen capture but not file transfer?
Will that also remove the 'Send a file' paperclip icon from the client conversation window?
For info our IM&P server version is 9.1.1.31900-1 and I'm using 10.6 Jabber for Windows client.
Thanks

Hi Jeremy,
If you disable the setting on Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence Service, you must also disable file transfers and screen captures in the client configuration.
So in this scenario, you can enable the settings on IM&P and then disable file transfer in config file. Screen capture will be enabled by default.
