Hello!

Could you please help me.

I have CUCM_9.0.1.10000-37 and CUP_9.0.1.10000-21 run on VMware and cisco jabber client for windows 9-0-5.

IM and presence work fine but I cannot make calls using softphone.

I created CSF device for user

Associated user with CSF device

Added user to user groups (Standard CCM End User, Standard CTI Enabled)

Associated a new device with user

Created CCMCIP profile and added user to this profile

but cisco jabber client cannot registered with softphone device on cucm.

Please help me! what I missed?

In attachment the log file.

Thank you in advance!

Hi

Your TFTP config file has CUCM9 as the server reference. Is that resolvable from your Jabber PC?

Perhaps try changing the CUCM9 reference in System/Servers to the IP address of server and then reset the CSF in CUCM, and try again.

Thank you very much for your help! Now it's work!

What was the resolution?

I have the same problem, I have DNS Server resolving the CUCM and CUPS names but softphones just don't register...I found the configuration files in the Jabber for windows directory, it seems it is downloading the correct configuration file but fail to register.

Hi guys

Can you be more specific on how you got it to work? I have this same problem too

The situation is: When I log in to Jabber and go to Help - Show connection status, it reported Softphone as Not connected. I checked on the CUCM the device status and IP address are unknown.

Is it about licensing? Because when I go to CUCM Admin - System - Licensing - License usage report, it shows:

License type          Current usage          Report

CUWL Standard          0                    Users( 0 ) | Unassigned Devices( 0 )

Enhanced Plus            0                    Users( 0 )

Enhanced                    3                    Users( 0 ) | Unassigned Devices( 3 )

Basic                         0                    Users( 0 ) | Unassigned Devices( 0 )

Essential                    0                    Users( 0 ) | Unassigned Devices( 0 )

TelePresence Room     0                    Users( 0 ) | Unassigned Devices( 0 )

But on the ELM it indicates that I have sufficient license (check attached image)

So what is the cause?

Can anybody help me on this?

Thanks so much

PS: I was using the Default configuration approach when installing Jabber, so no configuration file is on TFTP server by the way

Any help anyone?

I did a number of things to get it to work, and don't remember what exactly resolved the problem.

Anyway, try these steps:

- Ensure that all neccessary services on CUPS are activated and running. To check what service is down, go to CUPS admin > System > Cluster topology and browse to the CUPS server name in the inventory tree. The right pane will show you which service is stopped. Go to CUPS servicability and start them. Some services won't start even if you restart the server.

- Ensure these references are correctly pointed to the CUCM server address:

+ CUPS admin > Presence > Gateway

+ CUPS > Application > Legacy clients > Settings > Primary and backup server

Then sign out from Jabber and sign back in to see if it can connect as a soft phone
