Re: Jabber unable to communicate with server

I'm in need of some help. Neither TAC nor google searches have helped me yet. I cant get my jabber client to work with my IM&P server. It works just fine if I have it pointing to the CallManager. Currently not using DNS SRV records. I am modifying the host file on my pc. I will eventually get SRV records created.

Running CM 11.5.1, IM&P 11.5.1 and Jabber 12.0.1

IM&P sees the users. Cisco has confirmed that the setup both in CM and IM&P are correct.

Here is a snippet from the jabber log. I cant believe I cant find anything on the internet about this error message. Is it possible that I am the first to discover this error message (sarcasm)?

More information. I am running the CM, UC, and IM&P on a BE6000K. No firewall between my pc and these servers. How can I verify that port 5222 isnt causing this problem?

You can run "netstat -a" on the cmd when logging into jabber to check the active connections it should say ESTABLISHED, If you see TIME_WAIT then its more likely something on the network, Further you can run the packet captures to check.

I have 2 different vpn's that are used. One vpn, the jabber client establishes correctly to the IM&P server on port 5222. On the other vpn, the jabber client established to the IM&P server on port 8443 which is for web access and as such, the jabber client wont conenct to the IM&P server.

Any idea why I would be establishing a connection to port 8443 instead of port 5222?

Can you please reply with your resolution? I have this exact same error (14) and am finding nothing online other than your post. It would be great if we could know how you worked through it. Thanks.

EDIT: I just disabled HA, rebooted both IM&P nodes, re-enabled HA, and it started working again. My version is 11.5.1.11900-21.

Did you ever find a solution to this, we are seeing the same issue on System version: 11.5.1.15900-33. Rebooting the CUPS servers normally fixes it.
