Hi Everyone

I was recently trying to upgrade my UC suite and it keeps failing, I had our VM engineer power off the server and it still gives this error on power up. He thinks the hardware is to old and the upgrade isn't going to work, if this is true can someone give me the link that shows 12.5.1 isn't supported on C220 so I can so my manager. Thanks in advance for the help and I look forward to your replies.

When you say UCS 220, it  got different  series.  M2,M3,M4,M5 etc..  currently shipped series are M5. And M6 is the latest. its not clear which series is yours.

UCS 220 M3 - M5 can run CUCM 12.5.

You need to verify couple of things, when  planning a UC application upgrade.

  • You should check the UC application and vmware compatibility.
  • Before upgrading VMware on a UCS server you need to check the VMware compatibility on the UCS model. Based on the compatibility you may need to upgrade  the server firmware etc...

You can check the UC application and vmware compatibility from below link.

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/uc_system/virtualization/cisco-collaboration-virtualization.html

UCS VMware compatibility can be checked from below link, and required firmware will be mentioned on the portal.
