Hi Community,
we are struggling with Outlook Integration for Webex App. The Webex App give an answer using the checkbox that the connection to Outlook is not possible. I have seen that some users didnt have in AD the SIP Proxy Address - this is shown in Outlook like chat address.
Even if I add this address to AD it will not help us with the integration.
I didnt find so many articles regarding this problem, troubleshooting options.
Runing 'regsvr32.exe spark-windows-office-integration.dll' I get everytime an error.
Webex Version: 41.6.0.19119
Do you have any idea regarding this issue? How the integration exactly works?

Hi Stephani, well I have opened a TAC Case referencing to you.
here are the information that I got from the cisco TAC. Issue occurs if you start the Webex App as Admin.
Line 68311: 2021-06-29T07:08:54.303Z <Error> [15976] OfficeAdapter.cpp:109 OfficeAdapter::isSparkRegistered:Office integration, running as admin, outlook integration not supported Line 68322: 2021-06-29T07:09:08.560Z <Error> [15976] OfficeAdapter.cpp:109 OfficeAdapter::isSparkRegistered:Office integration, running as admin, outlook integration not supported Line 68687: 2021-06-29T07:09:15.907Z <Error> [15976] OfficeAdapter.cpp:109 OfficeAdapter::isSparkRegistered:Office integration, running as admin, outlook integration not supported Line 68820: 2021-06-29T07:09:16.001Z <Error> [14720] OfficeAdapter.cpp:109 OfficeAdapter::isSparkRegistered:Office integration, running as admin, outlook integration not supported Line 68821: 2021-06-29T07:09:16.001Z <Error> [14720] OfficeAdapter.cpp:109 OfficeAdapter::isSparkRegistered:Office integration, running as admin, outlook integration not supported
To check if you are running the app as administrator, start task manager and in details you are able to see if the app is running in the admin mode or not. It is under elevated information from the app. If you have there Yes, it is necessary to discuss this with local IT to make rollout of the app without admin rights.

Have you started the command prompt as administrator and do you have administrator rights on the computer? Also verify that your in the correct directory and that the file exists in this directory.

Having administrative rights on your computer is not the key to this solution, unfortunately. Cisco coded the installer so that it will not run if the user has permissions to install the application for all users of the PC. They claim this is a security concern.
In order to run successfully, User Access Control has to be enabled on your computer. This is sometimes disabled by GPO. You can typically do a quick test, however. From your Windows start menu, type in user access control. Move this slider button to at least the first level. Then retest checking the check box for the Outlook integration in the WebEx app.
Let me know if this works. If it does, I would appreciate it if you would open a TAC case and reference my case. The Cisco BU has stated that this is working as designed and they will not change it. The more of us who raised it as a concern, the better the pressure to find an alternative security mechanism.

Do you have administrator access on the machine and have opened the command prompt as administrator? Also, make sure you're in the right directory and that the file exists there.
