Is there a WebEx plugin for IE other than installing for the full desktop client?

When you join a Webex one of the options is to join with "Browser Only" which I don't believe requires a plugin. There are some functions that don't work in the browser-only version (such as file transfer), but other than that it works just fine.

Is that the kind of thing you are referring to?

No, there used to be a small client you could install that would allow the WebEx to start without any user interaction.  The desktop tools installs the app and by default starts up when Windows starts up.  We do not want this for user who are only attending meetings and do not have an actual host account.

Roger that. There is probably a setting in the desktop app that will prevent it from loading when Windows loads, so that is one option. Would that accomplish what you are looking for? If not, can you describe what you are looking to do in more detail?

Hi Presbell,

If I understand it correctly, I believe you want to disable the windows startup program where you do not want the WebEx tool needs to be pop out when the user login to their laptop or workstations.

depends upon the workstations OS model (XP, W7, W8/10), this can be disabled from windows startup configuration utility.

In Windows 10; you can perform below;

1. On your keyboard, press Ctrl, Alt and Delete at the same time.
2. Click Task Manager.
3. Click the Startup tab. You should now see a list of every program that starts when Windows is loaded. To disabled an item, right click on it and click Disable

I need to do this at the install level or with a GPO.  I do not want to ask 8,000 users to perform those steps.

I've set up customized MSI installs for other Cisco apps and applets. I'm not a Microsoft expert, so I can't tell you how to do this for the Webex install. But I wouldn't be surprised if there were a way to do this. Do you have (forgive me if I'm misnaming it) an MSI Editor?
