Hi,
Let me ask you a question, why should the outbound dial peer from the gateway to CM match any full phone number there is in the whole world? You should have it match any of the numbers that you would receive on the gateway, that’s not the same as any possible number. This document contains pretty much all the information that you’ll ever need for how call routing works in IOS. In Depth Explanation of Cisco IOS and IOS-XE Call Routing

With this you should be able to craft your configuration as you want it, with current best practices such as use of e164 number groups to make optimal use of dial peers.

If you’re referring to in a dial string it means end of string. However there are other use cases, so you’ll need to be a little more specific on what you’re asking about for us to understand your specific use case in regards to this.

Hello,

On the CUBE router, I see a dial-peer with the following configuration:

destination-pattern .....$

What does this string indicate?

That the dial peer match pattern is exactly 5 digits. The digits can be anything from 0-9 as indicated by the dots.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the clarification. Can you please provide an example of a dial-peer match pattern for inbound calls to CUCM that will catch any full telephone number?

Thank you!
