Problem description:

During upgrade from CUCM version 8.6 to 10.5.x (10.5.1.10000-7 )

Getting the below error message after uploading the ISO file for CUCM 10.5 upgrade in OS administration page.

Error encountered: The selected file is not valid. MD5 Hash Value:

 Resolution :

Upgrading from any pre 8.6 versions to 8.6 or any versions above 8.6 requires refresh upgrade file due to the RHEL version update (ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.5.cop.sgn).

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=283782839&flowid=45898&softwareid=282204704&release=COP-Files&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Upgardes from 8.6 or higher versions to 10.x does not require the above COP file. However for upgrading to10.5.x versions, there is an additional security being added to check the upgrade file which requires installation of another COP file (ciscocm.version3-keys.cop.sgn) for the upgrade to be successful. If this file is not installed prior to the upgrade, we will get the above mentioned error message.

Download link for this COP file:

 http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=283782839&reltype=all&relind=AVAILABLE&release=COP-Files&softwareid=282204704&sortparam=2

For any pre 10.0.1 to 10.5.1 upgrades, this COP file is mandatory.

Hello,

I am experiencing the same issue; however, I have installed the refresh file.  The 8.5 system does not recognize the 10.5 installer as valid.

I have tried installing remotely via FTP and locally, the results are the same.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I think I found the problem.

In addition to the ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.5.cop.sgn, there is also a patch listed under the 8.5 COP files called ciscocm.version3-keys.cop.sgn.

Once I installed the version-keys the 10.5 install file was valid.

Thanks,

John
