CDA is a Cisco Cloud provisioning platform used for Zero Touch Provisioning. It automatically provisions the device out of the box and provides a “plug and play” user experience.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<device>
<flat-profile>
<Primary_DNS>12.45.67.89</Primary_DNS>
<Provision_Enable>Yes</Provision_Enable>
<Resync_On_Reset>Yes</Resync_On_Reset>
<Resync_Periodic>7200</Resync_Periodic>
<Resync_Error_Retry_Delay>30</Resync_Error_Retry_Delay>
<Profile_Rule>http://yourserver.com/$PN/$PSN.xml</Profile_Rule>
</flat-profile>
</device>
Use cisco.com credentials to login to CDA web portal (https://software.cisco.com/software/cda/home) and request “Distributed Customer” role
Whilst we don't generally recommend whitelisting by IP address/subnet in case of changes to the IP addresses behind the DNS domains used, it is understood that this is a requirement for many SPs.
Two domains are active for EDOS/CDA, activate.cisco.com and webapps.cisco.com.
Subnets for activate.cisco.com:
72.163.10.96/27
72.163.15.64/26
72.163.15.128/26
72.163.24.0/23
173.36.127.0/26
173.36.127.128/26
173.37.26.0/23
173.37.149.96/27
192.133.220.0/26
192.133.220.64/26
Subnets for webapps.cisco.com:
72.163.10.128/25
173.37.146.128/25
These ranges are subject to change at any point in time, so make sure that you subscribe to the notifications in the EDOS/CDA services so that you receive any notifications about subnet changes - it's the same notification service that informs about EDOS/CDA planned outages etc.
@Geovani Wondering if you can advise: If you purchase refurbished Cisco 8800 series IP Phones that were previously enrolled in CDA/EDOS by the old owner's carrier, is there any way of removing this or telling the phone to ignore? After doing factory resets, the phones snap back to the old carrier (8x8 Inc) provisioning server. Ironically, we're trying to activate on WebEx Calling cloud but can't since the devices keep reverting back to the 8x8 prov server about 1-2 min after factory reset. 8x8 support not helpful since we have never been their customer.
Hi there,
You have to open a case with Cisco to get the device removed from EDOS/CDA: https://mycase.cloudapps.cisco.com/swl?PNP
Many thanks!
Hello is this service still online / available? Whenever I go to https://software.cisco.com/software/cda/home I receive a 400 Bad Request response. I'm looking to get setup for the Cisco / Distributed Customer Role. Thank you for your time in advance.
Still available. Please try with an incognito window or clear your browser cache and try again. Its working ok for me.
