latest update: Sept 2023 - minor additions
June 2023 (added MSFT integration topic and latest PIWs)
Dear all,
there is a lot of evolution on Hybrid services for On-Premises CUCM/BE6k solution.
These kind of services allow customers to continue operate with on-premises Cisco Collab model and at same time get amazing workflows and capabilities from the Webex cloud. On this post I would briefly focus on Webex Cloud Connected UC(CCUC). I believe is worth for all CUCM admins to examine this.
What is Webex Cloud Connected UC (CCUC)?
Is the ability to connect in a secure way your onpremises UC components (CUCM, CUCM IM&Presence, Unityconnection) to Webex Control hub.
Why do this?
To leverage the power of Webex platform to get analytics, monitoring, troubleshooting, certificate management and migration workflows for your on-premises Cisco UC deployments PLUS, extremely important, is that CUCC enables advanced features for MSFT Teams calling integration (highlighting this as many people have not heard about latest enhancements on this area).
For MSFT Teams calling integration:
- Bi-directional Presence integration // more info here
- Call History and voicemail integration // more info here
- Synchronize and manage users from cloud AD(Azure for example) into CUCM // more info here
- Synchronize users and contacts from Unified CM or LDAP server to Webex // more info here
For analytics/monitoring/troubleshooting/autoprovisioning/etc:
please find below just a few examples to get an idea of what we are talking about.
Example1: leverage CUCM Analytics to gain valuable insights:

In summary, you get unique visibility on what is going on on your CUCM/BE6K cluster in a very powerful way!
Licensing requirements:
CCUC is free, does not require any license.
a) If you have a Webex org already, you can activate CUCC from your Control hub as described below:
https://help.webex.com/en-us/5qzwwy/Activate-Cisco-Webex-Cloud-Connected-UC-for-Organizations
Sidenote: you have a webex org already if you use Webex Meetings or CVI or other webex cloud service or if you ordered flex3 for your CUCM lics (these include webex cloud messaging entitlements).
b) If you don't have a webex org already, then you could proceed with a 0 price Flex 3 order to get a webex org and start using CCUC.

Outstanding feature
Can CUCM Cloud be integrated with On-Prem PCCE 11.6? I know the answer is no, but need to validate.
hi @galarzas1
this post is related to Cloud Connected UC - it is not related to UCM Cloud.
Please coordinate with your Cisco Account team to get the required clarifications.

From a security point of view, How Webex will keep clients' info protected?
Is there any doc that explains the security procedures for this service?
thanks for the question.
How Webex protects and handles data is covered in Webex Cloud Connected UC privacy datasheet (mentioned above in the article and also adding the link below for convenience)
