Hi,
I have a lot of experience with UCCX but very little UCCE and would like what should be a relatively simple question answered.
Is UCCE similar to UCCX in that when an upgrade is applied the next time users log in they are prompted to download and install newer versions of CAD and CSD.
I have a customer in Europe who is considering using the UCCE system in the US to control agents and this is one of the many issues they need answers for.
The version of UCCE is 7.1 but would be interested in behaviour changes with later releases.

Hello James,
It's a paramter that you can either enable it or disable it.
Go to the CAD server , c:\program files\cisco\desktop\bin\postinstall.exe
on the services configuration , there is a radio button for would like cad automatic update enabled ? yes or no
Let me know if you need any other help with this.

Hi Amer,
Thank you for the response.
Can I ask how you update the CAD/CSD if auto-update is enabled?
Thanks
James

Hello James,
Listen , for me by default i always turn it off since if it is enabled , the agent when he opens the agent and before he login , the agent software will check for update from the server and it will be installed automaticly (all what you have to do click yes to install) and IT needs admin previliage, so always disable it and enable it when you upgrade the software so that the agent phones will take the new version.
