Hi,
you might want to attend the UCCE bootcamp.
In Basic English:
- Pre-routing: a routing request incoming from a supported adapter comes in to ICM. The routing decision is made and a routing response is sent back to the adapter. Based on the information provided in the response, the adapter sends the call to a designated location. It's very important that the call is not connected to the ICM, it waits all the time at or behind the adapter. Everything happens on the signalling level only.
- Post-routing: a call comes in and is connected to the ICM (or rather, a peripheral managed by ICM). The routing request and response actually happens while the call is already at the peripheral.
- Translation routing: a modified form of post-routing: a call comes in, connected to the peripheral and a routing decision is made, however, a temporary label may be used sending the call to a peripheral as its non-final destination.
