we are looking to provide Agent with a custom button on ECE chat screen, if they need to open CRM for any chat, they can click on this button and it will open CRM page for Agent. Is it doable? please suggest how it can be done.

Not possible or allowed inside the ECE chat window, create an additional gadget that allows for this and sits above or below the ECE gadget.

Hi David,
If I go with button outside ECE chat window by using another gadget I can open CRM and pass variables for the recent chat only while my need is if required agent have concurrent chats he can open CRM by click button on the active chat and active chat variable can be passed to CRM to open respective details page.
