CCX 7.0(2) Database Subsystem Configuration

Hi

We have a CCX 7.0(2) system that was recently rebuilt after a hardware failure.

The system seems to be working ok,

I was checking through the System -> Control Centre -> Cisco Unified CCX Engine and noticed that the Subsystem Manager was reporting that the Database Subsystem was unconfigured.   Is this normal ?      (fig 1)

A further check of the Enterprise Database Subsystem Configuration shows there are no entries. Is this normal ?  (fig 2)

As I say, the system seems to working ok but I'm curious to know if there is something missing from the configuration

Thanks

Andy

Hi,

Yes thats normal.

Database subsystem is used for pulling data from another database to CCX, which can be used for scripting.

Spot on answer Chuck.  To add to the history of this, if you didn't configure this subsystem it would actually show PARTIAL_SERVICE and thus take your whole Engine into PARTIAL with it.  It was a welcome change that they acknowledged this design flaw and updated how service were reported.
