Hi all,

I have 6 CCX servers with fulfilled license. Recently, I check their MAC addresses and see that they are changed. Meanwhile, I did not change any parameters:

  • Time zone
  • NTP server 1 (or none)
  • NIC speed (or auto)
  • Hostname
  • IP Address
  • IP Mask
  • Gateway Address
  • Primary DNS
  • SMTP server
  • Certificate Information (Organization, Unit, Location, State, Country

Any ideas for me?

Thuc

Hi Nguyen,

There is a log file called LicenseMAC log which displays all the parameters that affect the license MAC.

This is a very useful log file in finding out which parameter changed and when.

Login to the RTMT and collect the Install/Upgrade logs.

In the install folder you will have the License MAC log file. Please check this and let me know if it helps!

Hi

What has changed?

The interface MAC? I.e. that seen from other hosts' ARP tables?

Or the license MAC, as seen from Show Status?

Has your system gone into licensing problems/grace period?

Hi Harison,

The license MAC was changed. I check in Cisco Website that the license MAC depends on time zone, NTP server, IP Address...But I don't know how to specify which one was changed before?

The system has not gone down. In License Display, one message happens:

"Cisco Unified CCX License package is None.
Upload a valid license by clicking Add License link
OR check the parameters of the system on which the License MAC depends."

Any suggestion?

Thuc

Do you know when this happened?

I would retrieve all the logs off both servers immediately and then try to review them for obvious changes to those parameters..

Or if you have a backup, build a new VM, restore the backup and compare the settings.
