Hello Cisco Community,
we are currently upgrading to Cisco Finesse. (Coming from Agent Desktop). As of the reason that users have to sign in every time they close their browser, we started to look for alternatives.
The question is, wheter a SSO deployment could solve the issue. Below you will find an excerpt from the UCCX Single Sign On document:
"SSO permits Cisco supervisors or agents to sign on only once with a
username and password to gain access to all of their Cisco browser-based applications and services within a single browser instance. By using SSO, Cisco administrators can manage all users from a common user directory and enforce password policies for all users consistently.
SSO is an optional feature whose implementation requires you to enable the HTTPS protocol across the
enterprise solution."
The question is, what do they mean by saying "within a single browser instance". Do users have to sign in again when the browser is closed, or does it refer to the various web browsers out there.
The goal is to no let users sign in everytime they close their browser and launch the Finesse service again.

Hi,
here is clearly defined SSO in Cisco contact center..
Single Sign-on (SSO) is a session/user authentication process that permits a user to provide credentials only oncein order to access multiple applications. The process authenticates the user for all the applications they have been given rights to and eliminates further security prompts when switching applications in a particular session.
Contact Center SSO Specifications:
•CUIC login supported
•ECE gadget login supported
•MediaSenseSearch and Play gadget supported
•SocialMiner supported
•Cloud-based gadgets authenticate in the cloud, not against ADFS
Cisco Context Service
ECE
•ECE gadget leverages JavaScript DK libraries located in the Finesse container
oCurrently not opened for general 3rdparty gadgets –requires IdSregistration
NOTE: Customized Finesse Desktops via the API currently does not support SSO capability.
now your question is "within a single browser instance". that means if you login to any of the above application with your uid and pwd, you need not put or will be asked to put user id and pwd for other app like CUIC, Socialminer etc.
But if you close your browser, you will have to put uid and pwd again.

Mukesh

Thank you for the reply. Is there any possibility to preserve the session without logging in again after the browser has been closed?
Thank you.

Hi,
You no need to login again if the browser is closed, until unless you clear the history of the browser because your login information will be stored in cache.
But, if you want to log in to any application from other browser then, you need to provide credentials.
I think, "within a single browser instance" here referring to different browsers.

Anusha
