Has anyone delivered SNMP traps from CVP and wrangled with the CVPLogMessages.xml and CVPLogMessages.properties files. On my server the properties files is missing and there is little help in the serviceability docs from Cisco to define the traps. For UCCE the docs outline raise and clear conditions which is a start.
Any info your have please share.

I assume you have examined the CVP MIB "CISCO-CVP-MIB.my".

Indeed, the MIB will give me the object referenced for the TRAP but not which events are raised or cleared as a trap. More importantly which ones does Cisco rate as critical like they used to do for UCCE 8.x. Funnily enough it is missing from the UCCE 8.5 docs and definitely not consistent across the servers.

Hi,
I am no CVP expert, but can't you just use the log4j properties/xml file to log messages of your choice, perhaps through an SNMP adapter?

I managed to run up a lab box with the required version o CVP to retrieve the files. I ideally I would see these ancilliary info bits posted as a serviceability download independant of the build.
Now onto EMC Ionix to map it out.
