DHCP Server Migration from 2000 to windows 2008 R2.

Dear Team,

Recently we did UCCE migration from 8.5.4 to 10.5.2 except DHCP server. DHCP  server is running on windows 2000 with few  different segment  IP voice scope and all the phones are registered with this DHCP.

Now we are planning to bring new  Windows 2008 R2 server with same IP address and Hostname and same will be configure Option 150 for all the  scope.

 Action Plan is :

Power off Windows 2000 server , and assign the same IP address to new DHCP server

Now my  doubt is after Power on new DHCP server will take the process or not ?

Existing phones will operate or not ?

Please let me know how to achieve this activity without any Impact . Or Any impact please let me know what are the impacts .

Hi, phones will continue to operate as long as their assigned IP address does not expire.

The procedure you described should work, but I would assign a static IP address to a few agent phones while the operation just to ensure there is no unexpected IP address releases/renews.
