Finesse Call Control Gadget layout

Is there a way to reconfigure the Call Control Gadget to rearrange the number pad and remove the contact part of the screen (hopefully to reduce the screen real estate)?

I believe the only way is to create a purely customized one rather than modifying the default gadgets.
