Finesse display for outbound calls

I am using a direct preview outbound campaign with CCX 11.6 and Finesse clients and I do not see any of the contact info on the default desktop layout.  For inbound calls I use script variables, etc to select data and populate the agent desktop layout.  How do I do something similar for outbound if not using a script/trigger/application like I use for inbound?

That doc is helpful but I don't know how I would put that to use.  I am not using a trigger/application/script in my environment and I am not using IVR either.    

I am not using a script so I have no way to use those variables.  Meaning, I am not at the point where I can see what, if any, data is held in those variables.

 

I am going to try to add them to the default layout which is not optimal but might be a workaround for us.
