I would consider exporting it from either server nightly, outside your business hours. You can schedule this from within SQL..
You should consider that even if you export it from the secondary server, your secondary server may be 'Master' (i.e. performing call processing duties) at any time - if the system fails over to the secondary, it will run on the secondary indefinately until there is a problem with the secondary that causes failover back to the primary.
This is different to the CCM failover where the system will fail-back automatically.
