You can remove it from the Work Flow Group. Take a look at the Cisco Desktop Administrator User Guide for Cisco Unified Contact Center Express for your version of CAD / UCCX.

It will be under: Locations > Call Center 1 > Work Flow Configuration > Work Flow Groups > <your workflow group> > CAD Agent > User Interface
Uncheck the "Visible" box for the task button you're using to start recording.
