I have set up a comprehensive call flow deployment on a UCCE environment . I was trying to apply all the possible call flow models mentioned on the CVP configuration guide . and during my first call flow type configuration I was stuck at step 9 which is as below :

Step 9 Define translation route(s).

b) Configure translation route and label information for each VRU peripheral. Complete the following:

Label tab:
• Enter the translation route label (which might or might not be the same DNIS you entered on the
Peripheral Target tab)
• Type: Normal
• Routing Client: Select the NIC Routing Client

in case of ICME Deployment , is it mandatory to create label or is it just

Yes, labels are mandatory. You need to create a label under each routing client you have in your system that, each routing client that will get the calls setup. Routing clients like: CVPs (mostly) and CUCM.

Because when there's a new call being set to the UCCE, the ICM is returning a label for the call, a label you have to configure here, and when the routing client gets the label, it is starting a SIP flow where the request header of the SIP is now the label and not the ICM DN.
