It should work. Afterall, both software options are in the same place on software.cisco.com. Also, this person seems to have installed these two together, because it shows in their "show version active" output.

In which case, I don't think there's going to be an alternative for you, unless you'd consider upgrading to UCCX 11.6(2), which is better and has some nice new features over 11.6(1) anyway.
